Selena Gomez has used every bit of her strikingly good looks and talent to accomplish all she has in less than two decades. With the way things are going, she may be a forced to deal with a deluge of offers from movie producers and music moguls. Right now, she has the eye of Justin Bieber on her as she moves from a Disney image into the mainstream of film.
The Texas native answered a nationwide cattle call (parlance in the industry) to try out for a part that Disney was featuring when she was just a tot. Once she got noticed, she was cast on a variety of guest spots that included appearances on The Suite Life of Zach & Cody and the popular series Hannah Montana. There, Gomez found a home to expand her fan base as she was asked to play a reoccurring role as Hannah's nemesis.
The more Disney saw of her, the more they wanted to take advantage of her appeal. In 2007, she was cast in the Emmy-winning series Wizards of Waverly Place. Gomez has revealed that before the experience as Alex Russo, she had little interest in anything magical or Harry Potterish. That would change. Now that she was easily recognizable and was building a fan base that challenged Miley Cyrus, Gomez took on more film roles.
Since 2010, those movie roles have been streaming toward her. She first appeared in a flick called Ramona & Beezus to positive reviews. She then got cast in another film called Monte Carlo. The floodgates have burst open with continuing opportunity and challenge. Her future films include Hotel Transylvania, Spring Breakers, 13 Reasons Why and The Getaway. Gomez needs that youth and stamina to make these projects successful. It appears she has it all.
