For more than 50 years, Mick Jagger has been slithering across stages around the world and belting out song after song all because he was inspired by singing in his church choir. His love of singing propelled his life away from the formality of studying economics – which he did for a while – and drove him to duel status of receiving unusual honors from two different camps. In 2003, the British Monarchy decided that his international exploits on stage deserved a knighthood. In 1989, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame decided that his international exploits on stage deserved his induction.
The energetic front man for The Rolling Stones started their run as aficionados of the Rhythm and Blues genre of music. The name of their band derives from an old Muddy Waters tune. Keith Richards and Jagger were early school house chums that discovered early that they shared a passion for the blues. Together they put together a group of anxious musicians that wanted to throw a wrench in traditional music world. It didn't take too long before their popularity soared.
Along with success for a multitude of songs, albums and performances, legal problems began to surface. In the early 70s, the band popularity forced them to seek a tax haven in France. With money, attention from women and drugs available, the inevitable happened. Jagger and Richards got popped and faced a media storm of condemnation – but all it did was to cement their anti-establishment aura.
Jagger has a reputation for loving the ladies. Twice married and twice divorced, Mick has probably forgot about more lovers than most men ever have had a relationship with. His conquests include Chrissie Shrimpton (model), Marianne Faithfull (singer/actress), Anita Pallenberg (model), Marsha Hunt (singer/actress), Pamela Des Barres (Rock n Roll groupie), Uschi Obermaier (model/sex symbol), Bebe Buell (Playmate), Carly Simon (Singer), Margaret Trudeau (Canadian Prime Minister's wife), MacKenzie Phillips (actress), Janice Dickinson (receiver of plastic surgery), Carla Bruni (French President's wife), Sophie Dahl (author) and Angelina Jolie (Babe).
