Andy Grammer readily admits that his success in the music business is a dream come true – and a lot earlier than he imagined. The self-described optimist began the music grind playing street corners on the plush Promenade in Santa Monica, California. Even though snobbery there could have put a wet blanket on his dreams, his songwriting skills and delivery made him a popular attraction in an area with heavy competition for attention.
It wasn't long before he began getting invites to real gigs in real clubs that had the type of patrons who could launch him. Again, it didn't take long before he was appearing on stags with the likes of Taylor Swift and Colby Calliat. In 2010, Grammer took advantage of the Youtube method of distribution and released one of his most popular songs called 'Keep Your Head Up.' The method catapulted him into recognition by Jay Leno and Regis and Kelly. The fan base was building fast.
His follow up single and his self named Album have been just as successful as his debut cut. With recognition by his peers, Billboard magazine and the cash registers, Grammer heads out in 2012 for his first multiple-city tour that has already claimed sellouts.
According to Andy, every song that he wrote on the album had one thing in common. He was trying to track down the truth as he say it. He sees himself rising about the crowd and penning his view as if he was a bird. At times, it may be about a relationship that ends. At times, it may be about the best relationship in the world. But he always writes his songs to capture a view from afar in order to determine what is really going on.
