If you don't know where he came from Tramar Dillard's stage name of Flo Rida will clarify things in a hurry. The Coral City, Florida native has been rapping, singing and songwriting since 2008 as he attempts to strengthen his hold on a mercurial genre. Dillard's net worth is currently $18,525,800.
One of the problems with rappers and hip hoppers is the propensity to spend that hard earned money on bling, cars and pricey pads. Flo Rida has been riding a wave of minor success, but whether or not he becomes a lasting sensation has not been determined. He doesn't give up easily. Despite his early rejections and his relocation to Las Vegas for a college stint, Dillard dug in and reappeared with a successful debut album with the delivery of Mail on Sunday.
A year later and his sophomore entry called R.O.O.T.S . also did well on the charts. But since then, the only offerings have been a two-part studio album called Only One Flo, Parts I and II. So far, neither is burning up the charts. He has toured extensively and played halls in Asia, Europe, the U.S., Canada and South America.
Despite the lack of album production, Flo Rida does have a good reputation for entertaining the club crowds. He tours extensively and even played the halftime show for the 2012 NBA All-Star game. When he is on stag singing, he invites people to join him – especially nice looking women – and dances and sings with them. He has opened up his offerings by mentoring other potential up and coming stars with his label IMG.
Flo Rida has experienced a few legal problems. In mid 2011, Flo Rida got popped in Miami Beach for intoxicated driving and driving with a suspended license.
