Richie Sambora makes a living as a rock guitarist and is mainly known as a member of the rock band Bon Jovi. Sambora also released a series of solo albums, including “Stranger in This Town”, “Undiscovered Soul” and “Aftermath of the Lowdown”.
Sambora had a pretty turbulent personal life, characterized by many women. Richie married famous actress Heather Locklear on December 17, 1994. The couple had a daughter, Ava Elizabeth Sambora, who was born three years later. After 12 years of marriage, Locklear filed for divorce on grounds of irreconcilable differences.
Before he married Heather Locklear, Sambora had a series of famous girlfriends. Some of his famous ex-girlfriends are Stacey Alden, Ally Sheedy and Cher. Shortly after his divorce from Heather Locklear, Sambora started dating actress Denise Richards. The couple had an on-off relationship and eventually broke up in 2012. Richie is currently dating solo artist Orianthi, who is also known as a guitarist for Michael Jackson and Alice Cooper.
Richie also struggled with substance abuse and has been in and out of rehab many times. His problems first came to light, when the media got wind that Sambora was going into a rehab facility in Los Angeles. Sambora stated later that he had problems with alcohol, but that he was on the mend after his stay in rehab.
However, problems would return for the successful guitarist one year later, when he was arrested for drunk driving in California. Shockingly, he was driving his ten year old daughter and his friend. Sambora was only fined $390 and placed on probation for three years. Three years later, in 2011, Sambora went to rehab again, cancelling thirteen shows during the Bon Jovi Tour.
Despite his substance abuse and bad decision making, Sambora is quite active in various charities. He has been associated with Dream Street, Michael J. Fox’s Parkinson’s disease charity and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
