James Trevor Oliver, better known as Jamie Oliver, is probably one of the most famous people in the world. He makes a living as a celebrity chef, restauranteur and media personality. Jamie Oliver is best known for the large amount of television shows he appeared in, his world famous cooking books and his global campaign for healthier food habits.
Jamie Oliver was born and raised in Essex, England and got awarded the honorary English title of MBE. He went to school at the Newport Free Grammar School and graduated later on from the Westminster Kingsway College. Oliver earned a City & Guilds National Vocational Qualification or NVQ in home economics. He also has two GCSEs in Art and Geology.
Oliver started his career as a pastry chef in an Italian restaurant and was taken under the wing of Gennaro Contaldo, his mentor. After becoming a world-famous celebrity chef, Oliver employed his mentor to run his successful restaurants.
Jamie Oliver’s talent was first noticed in 1997, when he made an appearance in a documentary about one of his restaurants. Later on that year he made his debut with The Naked Chef and his cookbook ended up as a best-seller in the UK.
Over the course of his career, Oliver appeared in numerous television series about him, including but not limited to The Naked Chef, Pukka Tukka, Oliver’s Twist, Jamie’s Kitchen, Return to Jamie’s Kitchen, Jamie’s School Dinners and many more. His successful career as a television chef has put Jamie Oliver on the stardom map, but also brought him incredible wealth.
Oliver also has a successful personal life. In 2000, Jamie Oliver married Juliette Norton. The couple also has four children and are currently living in Oliver’s home town Clavering in Essex.
