Nicole Polizzi generates a queasy feeling of unease in some as the sharp-edged television reality star for a long-running show called Jersey Shore. Known as “Snooki”, her character flaws happen to be exactly what the show's producers desire. The effectiveness of drawing outright public disdain in her own special way seems to be the key to her popularity as her initial salary of $5,000 per episode has ballooned to $100,000 after four years of the show. Her net worth has also grown to $3,088,750 as she has diversified into speaking engagements, wrestling appearances and boxing promotions.
This pint-sized terror has ramped up her public persona on many levels. In 2011, she was invited and gave a speech to students at Rutgers University. Although the topic material didn't necessarily cover academic density, more than 1,000 students filled the hall. For that appearance, Polizzi received $32,000. Some of it apparently went into her diet.
Off and on, Snooki has wrestled with issues involving her weight. At times the diminutive Polizzi looks like a bloated figure and at others she sheds weight in extremes. During the next six months, Snooki's eating habits will be on display again and put to the test as she has recently learned she is pregnant.
Her television future won't suffer at all. Beside the renewal of another season of Jersey Shore, Snooki has teamed up with one of her gal pals in a spin off reality show called Snooki and JWoww vs. The World.
She has had some dust ups with the law, but none on the level as Lindsey Lohan. In the middle of 2010, Snooki got cuffed and briefly tossed in the local slammer for disturbing the peace. Just another drunken day out on the town.
